We are home at last --- only 20 hours from Denver. Don't even ask, just know that somehow we experienced every type of weather challenge known to man.
What a wonderful trip....
First stop was Adam and Britnee's for a quick over-night visit. Brailee quickly settled herself right between us for a good night's sleep.
Next ....to Heidi's to welcome new baby Milton. How fun to hold a brand new baby. HE doesn't spit up, never cries and is simply a "perfect" baby. Never seen a baby like him. Time with Taylor and Olivia was grrrreat. We played, laughed and hugged a lot. I will post more pictures and you can see how they are growing too. I watched more Looney Tunes than I did as a kid!!!
Dad and Heidi made a quick run to Orem to buy a little pickup for Milt. Oh darn, I had to tend the baby.....Ha
Unexpected side trip....Katie's call in the middle of the night when she and Jana rolled her car. Off Dad and Milt went to the rescue in La Grande, Ore. The 24 hour trip picked them up, delivered them to Rexburg, Id. and returned Dad, Milt and Katie to Utah. We hardly knew they had been gone.
Third Stop.....Jenny's to visit her and Annie. We went to the movie...(always a movie with Jenny, right?) , enjoyed a restful Sunday (rearranged Jenny's living room), beat Annie in a game ha-ha, watched movies and got beautiful hair-do's on Monday. Oh, and did I mention those fabulous candied apples????/ Hmmmm, so good!!!
With a brief stop at Loaine's we were off again (in a blizzard, no less)
Then back to Heidi's for one more peek at that cute baby. Oh my goodness....he had grown already and was much more alert.
The blizzard forced us to stay the night. Poor Taylor, he had to give up his bed to us again.....it worried him so because it makes his sheets "stink"?????what???? Are you kidding? Ha!!
While unloading Dad saw a group of deer in Heidi's back yard. So we all gathered in her tiny laundry room to watch them out the little window.
Fourth stop.... Rexburg, Idaho. Couldn't have a trip without moving someone, right? So, to make the blue bedroom into a living space for Katie. Moving, cleaning, clearing out, and rearranging!! Let's just say we performed miracles and still found time for shrimp at Chiz's, a movie with Grandma, and scones at Frontier Pie. Even Clint and Brach got in the picture as they hurried to clear out all of Jeanine's things from the closet----you would have laughed. Guess we put the entire family in panic mode when we start to clean and throw away!!
Grandma and Katie will be great roomies.....Katie is even giving Grandma her shot each day.
Will miracles never cease?
With the Blazer loaded with potatoes, stocked with raisen filled cookies, Great Harvest bread and Farr's candy bars we were off to Denver again. This time we would enjoy Sunday, church, good food and family time with Adam and Britnee. We got to see his office (GRAND) and enjoy the kids. Britnee tutored us some more on our blogging...yah!!! Bedtime and Brailee knew exactly where she was going to sleep......right in the middle. Oh, and did I mention that she kicks covers? Yup.....she is tooooo hot! Guess blood is thicker than water.
Homeward bound: Wouldn't you know it....woke up to a blizzard. Not to fear though. A good snow storm is just what this trip needed to top things off. We were HOURS just getting out of Colorado.....then Kansas and all the WIND you have ever imagined. Let's just say it was a lonnnnnnnng day. Arriving home at 2:30 a.m. having posted over 5000 miles, we were so grateful that we had taken time to leave the house clean. What a joy to fall into clean sheets. Sleep never felt sooooo good. There is no place like home.
